If your work has been exhibited in a solo or group show in a public or commercial gallery it is not eligible for the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize.  However, if your work has been in an open studio show or shown as part of your degree show or has been shown online, then it is eligible for the Prize.

Only original, two dimensional works in any painting or drawing media may be entered.

There is no minimum size limit, but the maximum size of work, in its largest dimension including frame, is 152cm. The work does not need to be framed or glazed, if on canvas, but this is entered at the artists own risk, as framing protects the work.

No, only artists currently resident in the UK are eligible for entry.

Yes, the competition is open to all artists born or currently resident in the UK.

We are trying to encourage all applicants to enter online in order to reduce our paper usage, and speed up the application process. However, if you are unable to process an application online, please contact Parker Harris.

Ideally all images should be a maximum file size of 1MB. Only the following file formats are acceptable: JPEGs, TIFFs or PNGs. Each image file must be named with your surname, first name and brief title e.g. SmithJohn_Title.jpeg.

Check that each of your image files are 1MB or less and that they are the accepted file types (either JPG, TIFF, or PNG.) If you still encounter problems, please contact the website Parker Harris by email.

Artists will be notified by email, by 21 December 2018, of the results of their initial application. Those artists who are invited to present their actual works for the final judging, will need to deliver their work to the Federation of Artists (FBA), 17 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5BD on Friday 25 January 2019 between 10am and 5pm or on Saturday 26 January 2019 between 10am and 4pm. A list of approved carriers who can offer collection and delivery services will be available to the selected artists.  Please do not deliver the work with fixings for hanging as these will be attached by our staff if the work is selected for exhibition.

Artists will be notified of the results of the final selection by email on 29 January 2019.

Following the final judging, works not selected for exhibition will be available for collection on 2 February 2019 between 10am and 4pm from the Federation of British Artists (FBA), 17 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5BD. Following this date, all work will be removed from the FBA and be available for collection by appointment from Art Moves of Chelsea at Chelsea Self Storage, Blantyre Street, London SW10 at a charge of £24 per work, plus £12 per week. . Works accepted for exhibition will be retained and stored at the Mall Galleries until the exhibition in March 2019.
